  • dbt (dialectical behavioural therapy).

Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), developed by Marsha Linehan, is a special type of psychotherapy that is especially effective for patients who find it difficult to regulate their emotions and impulses, such as individuals with borderline personality disorder, eating disorders, or who self-harm. New on the blog: What Pixar's Inside Out Gets Right About Mental Health
The audacity of Inside Out lies in that message: that all emotions, even negative ones, are necessary and important. Each takes up space in our daily living. • cbt (cognitive behavioural therapy).

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy based on the cognitive model: the way we perceive situations influences how we feel emotionally. CBT works by helping you to identify distortions in your thinking, and in doing so, develop more balanced thoughts, leading to feeling better and behaving in ways that are aligned with your goals and values.

  • act (acceptance and commitment therapy).

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a psychotherapy intervention that "uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies, together with commitment and behavior change strategies, to increase psychological flexibility. Psychological flexibility means contacting the present moment fully as a conscious human being, and based on what the situation affords, changing or persisting in behavior in the service of chosen values" (Steven Hayes).
